I'm sure Robey is referring to the fact his team lost when he felt it deserved to win, last year. Unfortunately, last year has nothing to do with this year. It's a whole new combination of players and coaches, and the game is being played much earlier in the season.Â
I'd way rather hear U.S.C. players talking about last year's game and inferring they were the better team in that game, in preparation for this week, rather than hearing them say something like "we need to have a great week of practice and everybody on this team has to do his best to prepare for this game if we want to beat Stanford on Saturday."
The more U.S.C. players think about how they were better in last year's game, the better it is for Stanford tomorrow, IMO.
