A long time ago I was dating a Stanford grad whose son was a UCB. Whenever the son complained about some bureaucratic snafu at school, my boyfriend would just smile and say “that’s what you get for going to a school that’s run by the same people who bring you the DMV.”

I guess I graduated from a school run by people who bring you Caltrans. That “DMV” school has also brought you Calvin, Mary Clair King, Lawrence, Seborg and countless others.

The look down your nose attitude is exactly why we didn’t much care for the guys in the other dugout in 1965-68.
