I would think the players love the chance to go into South Bend and get a win in front of all those (delusional) Irish fans. And the band sure has a good time with the school's place in society (or at least they had, before they were muzzled and neutered by the AD.) And like it or not, they fill seats in Stanford Stadium, even on Thanksgiving Saturday, which has got to be more fun than playing in front of a sparse crowd for a game against Oregon St.
