I was doing a San Jose State story for Real Sports or an HBO Doc called "Fists of Fury," can't remember which years ago. Soundman was Al Feuerbach. The great Larry Fan (SJS SID) on shaking hands with Al said, "After the interview would you like to visit the spot where you broke the world record?" So later we took a short walk and it was a parking lot. Al found the spot and Larry said that they should put up a plaque. I asked to see the field where I beat SJS in 1967 (Municipal Stadium was unavailable). Another parking lot! How soon they forget.
