Despite being the MPSF invitational, not every member of the MPSF in men's water polo took part in this 16-team tournament. Austin College and Penn State Behrend were not here. Though the arrangement we have with those schools is that they join us for the MPSF conference tournament and not for the regular season.
11 of the other 12 spots in the field were filled by our fellow CA schools (5 private, 4 UCs, and 2 CSUs.) With the final spot going to Fordham, who beat Pomona-Pitzer in the 15th-place game.
