Both teams are poorly coached. Penalties and mistakes enough for an entire season. I doubt Stanford can put away a game. Maybe they get lucky one time but 2-10 is optimistic.
I suspect you are referring to that 3rd and 3 in Beav territory, when Shaw put in his running QB, Daniels, every Beav knew what was up, and he got crushed, lost yardage, and we had to punt. To me that wimpy play call was the turning point. Get a 1st down there and game over.
Yes, a first down would have ended it, and you probably could have gotten it easily with a bootleg and throw to a tight end or run if it’s open, except McKee probably can’t get us three yards on his feet, and in any case we don’t line up under center any more.
But, FWIW, we kicked a field goal to go up five (we didn’t have to punt), which should have been enough with a minute left and OSU out of time outs.
