That was also my thinking. From 2009 to 2018 (almost a decade), Stanford (and Oregon) had the edge over the Trojans; and USC's years of domination of the Pac-XX appeared to be over. But time marches on. They finally appear to have a coach, and the portal/NIL play to their advantage. Watching the USC-UCLA game brought back memories of earlier times when those two teams battled it out at the end of the season for a berth in the Rose Bowl. Stanford is not even in the same universe in 2022.
