The big issue now is that big time college football is at least semi-professional, I do not foresee the University changing its entrance requirements or its transfer rules significantly. We will remain an attractive destination for those athletes for whom a Stanford Education is more important that professional sport aspirations. We cannot go out an reload via the waiver wire. We may be able to be reasonably competitive in terms of NIL but not transfers. We may well end up with some halfway decent teams now and then, but if we aren't willing to play by the same rules employed by USC, Oregon and other schools in the conference it is unlikely we will compete for conference championships in major sports on a consistent basis.
