Soccer is the most popular sport in the world (save perhaps running). And Messi is the best at it. Maybe Pele was as good, but the level of competition was not as good then and still Messi's stats are better, and at a higher level over a longer period of time.

In any case, I'm still buzzing over that game. Incredible drama. But sad that we will likely never see another player like Messi and this is probably his last time on this stage.
