Wasn't it recently reiterated and is it true that Tara dislikes taking midrange jumpers, because of the lower efficiency (more misses than points in the paints/layups, but fewer points per made shot than three pointers)?
If so, then any change to the offensive scheme would either have to find another solution or Tara would have to overcome her dislike for them. Plus, because we haven't been focusing on our offense around it, we might not be as confident in taking them, which would have played a role in our tentativeness and ice cold shooting.
Having said all that, I think Jones has shown she can hit a short or midrange jumper in the past and if my memory hasn't failed me yet, both Demetre and Prechtel (in limited instances) has demonstrated a capability to do so as well.
Can Lepolo hit the midrange? One would assume if she can make the three, a shorter distance would be within the realm of possibility too.
