The second foul it seemed to me that Brink was moving.
That second foul on Cameron was BS. Teder is a flopper.
Correct 81. First moving screen was total nonsense as you described and the second was deserved. The third I didn't see and there was no replay. What is infuriating is that there were at least a dozen moving screens worse than what Brink did that the refs did not call including a few by our players.
Although W-L records don't indicate it, I think OSU is better than WSU yet WSU is projected to make the tourney and OSU not. I watched OSU versus Utah and OSu played a heckuva game taking Utah to OT. Another close loss for them, two to the two best in the P12. Mostly though, OSU has better talent and is deeper. Don't know why they have struggled to win, just seems like theu haven't developed chemistry or perhaps young players who need to learn.
Agree in our win that it was great to see our bench perform so well. I like that Nivar got minutes and starting to look like she belongs as a solid back up to Lepolo. We need that. And yes, Betts played well. The only thing I don't like when Betts is on the floor is that our players, especially when other bench players are on the floor with her, default to her too much on O as if she is a safety blanket. The other players become too stagnant. They look to throw it into Lauren which is good - to an extent. Many times, Lauren is double-teamed or not in a good position to get the pass. It leads to turnovers or Betts being swarmed. Still good to go to Betts, but not quite so often or so obviously.
Jump is pressing. Would like to see her relax some and get back to hitting threes at 40-50% clip.
I thought the refs in our game were bad, but watched UA take down Ucla and the refs in that game were also horrible. As one example (can't recall the players), but one player is driving to the basket and a defender clearly hacks the player driving across the arm causing the player to lose the ball and it goes out of bounds. The defending team is awarded the ball as is the offensive player just lost control of the ball. The hack was so obvious and blatant that I have no idea how the refs could blow that call. P12 needs to clean up its officiating. Way too much banging, pushing, other physical play/fouls and even if the refs want to let them play, the calls need to b much more consistent so players know what they can and can't do. In a way, I'm glad that they are allowing more physical play because watching teams around the country we can expect to see that in the tourney and need to be prepared. But it does make for some ugly games, but worse to repeat myself, the inconsistent officiating affects the games and can be maddening.
