All the Idaho talk has my head spinning. I grew up there, although in the southwestern part of the state, although I have relatives in Coeur d'Alene now. Northern Idaho might as well have been on a different planet to me in those days--different time zone, terrible highway connection, and quite different economically and culturally too.
Coming across other people from Idaho--from any part of the state--has been a very rare occurrence for me ever since I went away to college. Somewhat interesting (though not exactly a shock) to find out there is some kind of mini-community of Stanford people with Idaho connections. Stanford has always drawn well from the intermountain west, as the nearest elite university.
And, of course, to make this relevant to Stanford WBB: Tara got her coaching start at the University of Idaho, going 42-14 over two years.
