So Haley can play defense. Her coaches must have got on her for being singularly responsible for half of Arizona’s first half points.
Now that we know she can play defense, I hope this trend continues. Again I think resting her helps (not just in blowouts) but the coaches holding her accountable to play both sides of the ball.
I am interested to see if this trend of maximizing her bench continues in next week’s games. It’s easier to do that in blowouts. Tara seemed frustrated in the 3rd and 4th and put Brink back into a blowout game. Bottomline, her starters regularly make mistakes. Her bench players don’t need to walk on eggshells. Of course they won’t be able to come into a game and be flawless. They don’t have enough experience 4 weeks until Selection Sunday. They have to be able to play through their mistakes like the starters.
Edited to add: Didn’t realize Haley’s lack of an offensive game. We clearly need her to be a reliable 2nd scorer. I hope is not either/or with her because Stanford needs her on both ends of the floor.
