Agree with Spanish Trail - amateur sports as we knew them are changing… And while I think reasonable people can bemoan the loss of the old system, I personally struggle to mourn changes to a system that has been fundamentally unfair to young adult athletes. I know this topic has been beaten to death in other posts…I agree that the system has been unfair to athletes in the revenue sports like MBB and FB, but how is it unfair to those who can get a paid-for college education in non-revenue sports?
BTW - I don’t post often but generally love this forum and appreciate the thoughtful participation. Could do without some of the hysteria after a few losses though ?
I’m not sure the distinction matters. Why would a non-rev athlete not have the right to benefit from their name/image/likeness?
