Only slightly off topic -- I have to say that the culture that's developed of these boards of like minded fans -- who then make rare diplomatic visits to opposing teams' boards -- is a blast and a great addition to football. I really have a happy memory of those Oklahoma State folks that came over ont this board before the bowl game. Mostly good natured banter and even had a chance to hash out stuff about USA stereotypes.
Maybe I'm being starry eyed here and the majority of the boards are a bunch of woofing and dittoing.
Last note -- on any online board or comment thread, when you read someone that's really being a crass idiot... Or a troll just looking for reactions -- I've come to realize that some of those folks are just young, some even 16 years old or less even. And we reflexively respond to them with venom and cement our belief that there is a giant stratum of morons in society. (Rather than just a large one.)Â I think that phenomenon represents a startling portion of what we think of as trolls.
