There is no doubt that the Pac-12's TV time slot shuffle is a problem. I can tell you right now the kickoff time for every Colts game for the rest of the season, but I can't tell you the start time of a Stanford game 10 days away?
Even if I did not know the Colts kickoff times, I would logically guess they will either start at 1PM Eastern or 4PM Eastern. Meanwhile, Stanford's game 10 days from now could be Noon, 3:15, 4:00, 4:30, 5, 6, 7 or 7:30.
I know the conference has so many games with possible Pac-12 CG implications that the conference can't even assign the unwanted Pac-12 network times yet. That probably is a function of the conference structure now, and will be true in many Novembers.
However, the kickoff start time shuffle is not a problem unique to the Pac-12. Every conference seems to have a similar set of scheduling uncertainty especially later in the year. Though clearly other FBS teams with their ample supply of loyal and crazed fans can absorb the scheduling uncertainty better than Stanford.Â
