The issue I'm running into now is still no schedule for next season; no idea when home football games will be no idea when Reunion/Homecoming will be people who have long lead times on requesting vacations (doctors, etc.) are screwed.

That was a benefit that most conferences lost a long time ago.  One year about a decade ago I worked in an office with a woman from Virginia.  She was a Virginia Tech alum and really wanted a fall wedding that did not conflict with a Hokie home game.  Ultimately she had to pick a Saturday and hope.  So every week in the early part of the year she called V-Tech to see if the schedule was set.  At the time, I thought that was silly.  I showed her how the mighty Pac-10 had this convenient schedule that went out multiple years.  She was so envious.

I seem to recall, back then, that it was May or June before she knew the schedule.  My guess is the new Pac-12 will have a similar scheduling outlook.

FWIW - It is quite possible that the University and the Alumni Association will learn their desired home date before the AD knows and promotes the opponent  for that date.
