Accomplished lots of things this game.

1.  Finally played Nottingham and Nottingham made early season Shaw look wise and prescient.
2.  Held out Hogan until Colorado,  increasing the chances of success and...
3.  Let Josh Nunes participate in his own fall from starterdom without costing Stanford a victory.
4.  Really boosted team morale by letting all "the other guys" play.  Jackson Cummings probably phoned his mom before he took off his pads.  Betcha that was one happy planeload of players (minus one) flying back Saturday night.
5. Shut us up,  at least temporarily.

I am very happy that the QB controversy and Shaw's criticisms have quieted down a bit. Personally, I've always felt we're pretty lucky about having Shaw, an alumnus with a serious and dignified demeanor, hard working, good recruiter, and good with the players. Plus, given the prices of coaches these days, pretty cheap!

That said, I'm impressed about how level the cardboard was during this controversy (which could reappear any time, for sure. Hogan seems to be a bit hesitant in the pocket, and the next 3 rivals might make him pay). In other boards the amount of vitriol would have been unbearable, and while there were a few posts here and there that, to me, seemed uncalled for, almost everybody participating in the debate was pretty awesome!

I'm really looking forward next Saturday. OSU looks pretty beatable, and I want to see Hogan against a good defense.
