The incessant handwringing over Shaw is really getting old. He is hands down the greatest coach in the history of Stanford Football. Full stop.

Were the last few years rough? Absolutely. Was it past time for him to go when he finally did? Yes. But the three conference titles, two Rose Bowl wins and four top 10 finishes represent some of the best memories of my experience as a sports fan. I get the feeling some people on this board would trade those for a few more Blockbuster Bowls in the later years.
