Men's soccer got beat by Oregon State. OSU has had their number for a few years now. Looks like they have a pipeline of recruits from Spain. Oh, and a senior transfer from UW Milwaukee who scored both goals today. Stanford had been #1 until a tie on Thursday against Washington and today's loss. The Washington game was pretty even; today Oregon State looked to be the slightly better team. Both games were unlike all of the previous this year, insofar as Stanford didn't build up with passes from the back. Instead, it was a lot of long balls, often motivated by an element of anxiety about holding onto the ball. The UW game in particular was rather tedious to watch -- like a pinball game much of the time, as Washington employed the same "I-don't-want-to-be-the-guy-who-screws-up" approach.
