I used to hate the Colts and their Cut That Meat quarterback, and I still think Irsay is a jackass. But the guy is a passionate owner and willing to spending money. So Luck got in a much better situation than you would typically get from a team drafting first. I'm fully expecting Pagano's vision of them hoisting the Lombardi several times coming to fruition.Â
Frankly I don't understand why the ENTIRE league did not Suck For Luck.
I have discussed this with others on draftcountdown.com. That board is filled with a lot of knowledgeable posters who know a lot about pro football and what players are worth. The consensus is that Andrew Luck is the most valuable player in football today from an ownership perspective. There is zero chance the Colts would trade Luck for Brady. Brady is nearing the end of his career while Luck is just starting. Realistically, it would take Brady, Gronkowski, Chandler Jones and probably some draft picks and even then I don't think the Colts would pull the trigger.
