I was surprised that Michigan did not succeed in getting a TRO in time to allow JH to coach against Penn St. Michigan won without him, as I suspect they would/will against Maryland. The "friendly" judge the Michigan lawyers attempted to get the TRO from was a former Michigan football player. Apparently he thought that stunk a bit too much and recused himself. The judge that then got the case was a Michigan alumna who majored in art. That didn't go so well as she did not issue the TRO. That is not to say she won't do so later, but she wasn't willing to do so quickly for the Penn State game. I would still be amazed if there isn't some kind of legal "relief" in place before the Ohio State game.

But let’s just say there’s a reason his hero is Bo Schembechler.I think there are quite a few faculty and administrators at Michigan that agree with you, and have for a while. He is far from universally liked. There are certainly a lot of Michigan football fans that want him to remain as long as he is contending for national championships. If he loses to tOSU in two weeks, a lot of that support will evaporate. Fans are indeed fickle. If Michigan does in fact end up looking at significant penalties from either the B1G or NCAA, JH might very well need to find another job (probably in the NFL). He will probably have no trouble doing so.
Personally, I think Michigan should fire him. But I think Qwerty is spot on. They don’t care, they’re winning.
