Every time I go to La Jolla I wonder why on earth (apart from housing prices) anybody lives in L.A. Years ago the spouse and I used to go for weekends at the La Valencia. Then it was an out-of-the-way place with us and a few old people in for the early bird dinner. Quite a bit different now. But still a paradise.
