Even so, we need some "creampuffs" at this time of year to give the freshmen opportunities to play and adjust to the college level. The hope is that by now they will be strong enough to play against conference opponents--but freshmen always need a transitional period.(12-20-2023, 02:54 PM)JohnR34231 Wrote: Score is 60-25 at halftime.
Didn't realize it was going to be this much of a mismatch.
The non-conference scheduling proves Stanford can run up the score against creampuffs. Once we get into conference it will be a different ballgame against some opponents.
So yes, we have had some creampuffs, but we have also had the 14th toughest schedule so far in the country. Indiana, Duke, Florida State, and Gonzaga are not lightweights. For comparison, here is the strength of schedule so far for the Pac 12 schools:
UCLA 7
Stanford 14
Colorado 17
Arizona 27
Utah 31
WSU 49
USC 57
ASU 76
Oregon 97
Cal 116
Oregon State 174
Washington 207
