A win, by the way, in which Stanford made adjustments and UCLA did not. By most standards , that suggests UCLA was out coached. It exactly your narrative I suspect, but that’s the way it looked from here.
Fire Haase!
Sorry. That was an entirely sarcastic/ironic/whatever post. I was just amused by the fact that, less than a week ago, a number of Boarders were, literally, sending letters to Muir about firing Haase, and now, in those five days, he’s had one of the best two game stretches for Stanford MBB in probably a decade. Life’s crazy sometimes…
He's had 7 years.
And UCLA is the worst they've been in about a dozen. "One of the best two game stretches for Stanford MBB in probably a decade" being a fantastic upset followed by a win over a likely bottom half of conference team is...uh...not the ringing endorsement some think it is.
We've seen this movie before under Haase. We have 2-3 good games in a row and people get all hot and tingly and think we've turned the corner. Subsequent games prove we haven't.
Maybe this will be an exception though. I hope so.
BTW to say that the UCLA coach was a little upset after the game would be an understatement.
