Great match. Stanford won the first two on their way to a five set victory, winning 16-14 in the fifth game. Stanford had 61 errors, including 26 service errors, almost twice as much as UCSB. Hopefully they can clean that up. Kevin Lamp and Moses Wagner really struggled hitting. Stanford blocked pretty well across the board, five players had at least three blocks each, as a team they nearly doubled the UCSB blocks. Luke Turner did reasonably well as a 6'6" libero (he's listed as an OH on the roster). Theo Snoey had one block and one assisted block across five games as the oppo (blocks the other team's main pin hitters). Interesting.
Will Rottman led with 22 kills, and given that he's a Santa Barbara native, I imagine he had fun in front of his friends and family.
Today's game is at 5 p.m. at the Thunderdome. Incidentally, I really like the Thunderdome, UCSB's gym. It hosts the largest HS MVB tournament in Southern California, and they're passionate about volleyball down there. 753 fans attended.
