Fully expect that if Taylor gets Stanford to 7 or more wins he will then be able to jump to a BigTen or SEC program that can provide more money and a higher profile. Given the transfer portal, when that move happens Taylor will be able to take all the players willing to trade a Stanford degree for a sweet NIL deal and the adoration of 75,000+ very loyal season ticket holders.
Then Stanford football will hope to find another coach willing to take over a depleted roster and presumably with enough passion win to elect to leave Stanford after a year or two of even moderate success.
I just wish a certain Stanford men's basketball coach could get to a similar situation ASAP since it is clear Muir refuses to fire anyone.
If only we were a bigger time school where we could be sure to keep our loyal & successful coach... like, say, Michigan.
LOL in some alternate universe we have just concluded our 100th unbeaten conference season in the Ivy League, going 9-4 overall, beating Hawaii in the Poke Bowl and with our only losses being OOC to ND, Kal, SJSU, and UC Davis. Rumors of his leaving were quashed when TT signed a 40-year contract extension. It was, of course, "a 40-year decision."
