I thought Stones was actually pretty balanced in his call. He didn't ignore Whittaker. At the start of the third lap, he says, "she is getting all she can handle from Juliette Whittaker, the sophomore from Stanford who is right there with her."

Did you hear his comment at the end of the race? Saying that Rose should get all of the credit for the race?

Thanks for the great news.   Good to see her running the 800 again.   Kept reading about her good but not great mile results over the last year and (still) wondered why the switch.

There is another interview on YouTube addressing this to some extent. Whittaker and her coach both wanted to move up. I think she now sees that as a longer term project. To make the Olympic team her outdoor 800 time needs to improve about 1.5 seconds. Her 1500 about 9 seconds. The 800 is more likely this time around.
