Whittaker’s 4:30 mile is a very good time

Bob, I would say that 4:30 is a decent college time, but it is a long, long ways from the woman's mile record.  23 seconds slower, meaning she would have to improve her 400 yard splits by 6 seconds each.  That would very remarkable. She is still 6 seconds off the women's 800 meter record, but that is a lot closer than the mile record. She seems to have the speed and by the time she leaves Stanford, she might be even closer seeing she is only a sophomore. I too wonder why she continues to run the mile other than to get points for the team.
