As an LA resident and a Stanford fan, I will really miss the regular games against USC and UCLA. I could count on having a chance to see Stanford play in LA against either or both schools in all seasons. And they were often games of consequence because you would usually find some or all of Stanford, USC and UCLA at the top of the conference standings. I will also miss seeing Stanford in historic and great venues like the Rose Bowl, the Coliseum, Pauley Pavilion, Jackie Robinson Stadium, etc. Sigh. So many memories.
I do look forward to new memories against ACC foes. But they may be few and far between in football and basketball and less common in other sports. The ACC is a step up in competition compared to the Pac12 in sports like men's basketball, men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's swimming, men's golf. I hope that Stanford will remain competitive but I don't have a good feeling about things. Still I hope to be able to watch live streams of most games and matches. Less access would definitely mean less fan interest for me.
