I just think one measure of accounting that should stick is self-reporting by the athletes. The other is a compilation by the schools, which they will need for their own purposes (including recruiting).
We will just have to disagree on the 40-year decision. If a kid can make several million in NIL by the time they graduate, Stanford may have very little to do with it. Brink was Brink and Jones was Jones. Being at Stanford didn't enhance their NIL financial prospects IMHO. They would have been stars anywhere they went, and the money would have followed.
Just my opinion. I can't automatically keep the Cardinal-colored glasses on for this one. I'd like to know some numbers on how competitive Lifetime Cardinal and any other NIL entities at our disposal are making us.
