That's irrelevant. The rule against having an ineligible receiver downfield only applies if there's a forward pass (and only if that forward pass crosses the line of scrimmage, which means it doesn't apply to most screen passes or shovel passes). So if you run the ball -- even if you fake a pass first or if you had originally intended to pass -- then you can't be penalized for an ineligible receiver downfield.
