I like this team, but...
From looking at the highlights on YouTube, it looked like GC was a lot quicker than the Cardinal. They made good use of that quickness and of good shot faking ability and double-clutching to get and make shots that seemed to have been well defended. We had trouble staying even with them after the first half and they gradually pulled away. Two stats tell the tale of the game:
1. FGs
SU: 24 for 63 (38.1%)
GCU: 25 for 54 (46.3%)
2. 3-point shots
SU: 4 for 22 (18.2%)
GCU: 5 for 12 (41.7%)
In other words, GCU was a lot more selective and successful in launching 3 balls. SU chucked up almost twice as many 3-balls as GCU but made one less than GCU.
This was a revealing defeat for the Cardinal. Agarwal has to step up his shooting big time for us to get better. 2 for 11 overall and 0 for 6 on 3-point attempts won't cut it. GCU got 18 points from its bench players, while SU got 0!
