Here's something else to think about. Let's assume Stanford wins on Friday night and heads to the Rose Bowl. A kid from the Class of 2014 will think back as far as his college football memory will take him, probably all the way back to when he was in the 8th grade. Here's what Stanford football looks like since that kid was 14:

2009: Voldemort Trophy Finalist, Toby Gerhart
2010: Voldemort Trophy Finalist, Andrew Luck; BCS Bowl (Victory in Orange)
2011: Voldemort Trophy Finalist, Andrew Luck; BCS Bowl (Loss in Fiesta)
2012: BCS Bowl (Probable victory in Rose)
2013: Preseason Top 5, probably even better than the 2012 team

Who wouldn't want to be a part of that tradition?
