The two male refs were bad.. but Stanford didn’t do themselves any favors with the missed free throws. They were quick, but accurate whistles. The player making the throw-in has 5 seconds to release the ball.
Q1 1:17 The official is still counting (swinging his arm) when Bosgana releases the ball at 5.32 seconds after letting go of the ball in her arms. He signals a 5 second count at 5.51 seconds. (Kudos to Bosgana for at least trying to bounce the ball off the opponent. I think it would have been successful.)
Q4 0:28.2 The official signaled a 5 second call 5.16 seconds after the ball touched Demetre's hand. The ball left her hand at 5.22 seconds.
I played the video at regular speed from the ESPN site while I had a stop watch app running free on the same display. A video screen capture recorded both simultaneously. I then stepped through that recorded screen capture frame by frame to find the stopwatch reading when the ball was put in the possession of the player, when it left their hands, and when the official signaled the violation.
P.S. Once again, if you want to see the end of basketball games, don't use replays in Sling's ACCNx. They cut everyone of them short of the end of the game. Go to ESPN, find the ACCNx replays and watch them there.
The officials in this game were Jospeh Vaszily, Rod Creech, Esther Hsu.
The refs in the Cal game were worse than this set, in my opinion. They were Lisa Jones, Chuck Gonzalez, Tiara Cruse.
