Has anyone ever said (on this board or elsewhere) “You know, the refs gave us the game”

Statistically speaking, we ought to end up winning close to as many because of the refs as they cost us, but no one is ever thankful when the refs help the team.

When you win it is always because of the excellence of your players.
When you lose (especially in a close game) it's because of the incompetence of the refs.
Always has been that way, and I suspect it always will be.
