I like the move mostly because it is interim. Had this been a permanent thing, my reaction would have been Frank Reich? Really?
Taking them at their word, this is a caretaker position. A real coach with real experience to at least get something out of what has long looked like a potentially historically terrible season. Like not even a crooked number win total.
If I remember this correctly, Bowlsby treated Harris as an interim coach (without telling him) in the fall of 2006 and actively scouted Harbaugh including games and practices.
