Conspiracy theorists will tell you that the NBA rigged the draft so that Mavs fans will think twice about abandoning their once-beloved franchise and now cling to hope that Cooper Flagg will lead them to glory.  What the Mavs ownership and Nico Harrison have done has almost eviscerated the fanbase, but this might entice some of them to come back into the fold.

Not to worry .  The Mavs will trade Flagg for some over the hill talent as soon as Flagg becomes a star.

I think they skip that step and use the #1 pick to draft somebody that has no talent. Flagg becoming a star will delay the move to Las Vegas longer than ownership will tolerate :-).
