LA Times article on some job losses in the USC AD. You could make a reasonable argument that this is a good rebalancing of athletics department revenue away from administrators and to athletes, and you would probably be right, but there is only so much administrative bloat you can squeeze out. WSU is cutting some track and field events, and focusing on the events that it feels it has a competitive advantage in (distance events).

I have posted it before - I expect cuts in minor sports to rapidly snowball. Many schools lose money on sports; either they need new revenue or they cut costs. I expect this to end with men’s football, basketball and probably baseball. Then Women’s basketball, volleyball, beach, softball, soccer and another sport or 2 to balance out football. And not much else.
