I think about the final demise of Stanford football (don't snicker, it's closer than we want to believe) in the same way the Hemingway character described "the speed of bankruptcy" in The Sun Also Rises: "It happens gradually, and then suddenly." Depressing to think about for sure, but, if oblivious arrogance is the key ingredient in this case then there is sure as hell no shortage of it in the Stanford community. I mean, look at how this cluster*** arrived in the first place.
Life is too short to waste on crap football.
