Is there a precedent for this college team in any sport in any year?

Maybe men’s gymnastics in the Brody Malone era?

I doubt it and I agree that Coach Walker is clearly the best.  But I have to wonder if she would prefer Stroke or Match play to determine the NCAA. If she choose Stroke Play it is pretty obvious why, but I think she would choose match play and let the results speak for themselves.  I think big stroke play matches really help build top players mental game.

Stroke play: 45 (45.5%)
The results: Less women's coaches responded to this question, but the results are similar. The women moved to match play in 2015, and the biggest argument for stroke play is Stanford. The Cardinal have won the stroke-play portion at NCAAs five consecutive seasons yet only has two national championships to show for it. However, in a slightly wider margin than the men, of women's coaches who responded, they're slightly more in favor of match play to determine a champion than stroke play.
