I hope we can limit his early season minutes so he stays healthy
Brevin is the obvious comparison here.
Ebuka is a better shooter and scorer of course, lots of point guards were.
I don't think Ebuka is quite as quick, but I think he is the closest on that score that we have seen in a pg.
However, Ebuka only has 4 total assists so far. Not sure how many Brevin had at this point but one of his magical qualities was to get other guys baskets who had ... limited offensive skills.
Ebuka is taller and built more solidly, and, yes, not quite as lightning fast as Brevin was but fast enough! Brevin's support cast as a freshman wasn't any better than this one. It did get better though (Tim Young, Art Lee, Pete Sauer, etc). If we can hang onto him (a big "if"), hopefully same is true. In Kyle I trust.

Batson is in the box score.
Agarwal is sick and listed as day to day
I was at the game. Agarwal wasn't even on the bench, so he must be pretty sick!
Okorie is special. Wow. Plays with pace but not frantic or out of control. Great body control and can finish at the rim. Nice shooting stroke. And his quickness and anticipation on defense was harassing.
I don't think there's all that much talent on this roster other than Okorie though. Imo, the other high-minutes guys are ok-ish ACC players: Okpara, Agarwal, Geiler, Camman. I don't think we'll be at the very bottom of the ACC like was projected by many, but keeping my expectations well in check. Defense will be solid but exposed against good teams by our lack of athleticism, and I don't think any of those guys (with the possible exception of Okpara) will be able to score with any consistency against the good teams either. I hope I'm wrong though!
In terms of scoring, I have my eye on the Belgian, Giltay, who did not play today. Others like Skrinda. We also (surely) have not seen the best of Donavin Young. I'm pretty excited to see what might blossom with those guys.
I was sitting behind the bench. I'll pay extra for the entertainment value of watching Kyle in action, lol. Needless to say, he is intense and shows it.
I was wondering why Skrinda and Giltay weren't playing. I assumed it's because they're not deserving of minutes yet. Which makes them projects.
Skrinda finally came in during mid-second half and I never took my eyes off of him. Yep, he's a project. Looked tentative and the coaches were instructing him every moment (maybe too much), but you could see some talent. At risk of sounding ridiculous, he reminded me of Raynaud as a frosh. Good size, moves ok, really nice shooting touch, a little bit lost. I remember during Raynaud's freshman year complaining constantly that he didn't play more. I chalk that up to the reign of error of Jerod Haase and Bernard Muir, who incompetently and criminally kept extending Haase as we all know.
The Belgian didn't play and, like I said, I'm assuming that's for a reason. Toure also got a few minutes as one of our big men and looked lost and a little underwhelming talent-wise. And don't get me started on Cameron Grant. He had a couple of nice moments, but he's not an ACC-level player in my book. I'm assuming/hoping he was just getting Agarwal's minutes.
