Yes recency bias, and yes the opponent was not good, but Okorie looked pretty electrifying! I am thinking that in all my years of watching LSJU M BB, the only other freshman guards who moved so differently from other players were Todd Lichti and Brevin Knight. Maybe also James Harden at ASU. Russell Westbrook of Ucla hardly played as a freshman and was dynamic as a sophomore. Pretty good company for Okorie. Let's see if he can keep it up against more legit competition.
What impresses me so much about Okorie is his ability to create something, spark something, break down a defense, far more than most players.
It doesn't always lead to a score. But if a defense is set up, seemingly solid and prepared, he's gonna be the guy on our team with best chance to disrupt that, get them off balance, and lead to a chance at a inside bucket or someone left wide open on the arc.
