I was at the game while listening to WVB. After WVB swept Cal, I listened to the WBB game. (Yes, there’s a delay)
Late in the game, the radio announcer was pointing out how we were above the best ever Stanford FG%, but with the subs in, we started to drop. Had we not shot (or not missed) the final 3pt shot with 5 seconds on the clock (and no shot clock), it would have been a Stanford record (and, I think, a NCAA-best this year)
But no one should begrudge the players who only get a few minutes a year on court from going all out during that time. And, the final shot would’ve put us over the century mark.
Yes, it was a weaker team, but it was a great game offensively and a pretty good game defensively. 15 for 15 FTs doesn’t care about the quality of the opponent.
My only regret today was that I didn’t make it to the MWP game.
