Being a "one-and-done" and going to the NBA is certainly going to be an option. The only reason not to do that would be if he thought his draft position could be greatly improved by playing on a better team AND he would get payed basically NBA money to do so. Stanford can't offer the former and probably not the latter either. Either way, he is gone.

The only saving grace is his parents are both Harvard alums and might value education above pure playoff potential. He was initially committed to Harvard. I hope Stanford pays up and keeps him.
