Do you think a theoretical true freshman in 1999 would rather have played in the Rose Bowl, or saved himself for Buddy Teevens?
As great as I think we will be in the years ahead, nothing is certain. If any true frosh is good enough now to contribute meaningfully, play them. And to play in the NC game, the only game you could say is more important than the Rose Bowl, is a complete crap shoot. And if we're getting to that level, I'd hope our recruiting would be in reloading mode anyway. No matter how Cardinal shaded your glasses are, it's more likely than not this will be the only Rose Bowl anybody on this roster plays in.
