Robbie Ray to the Padres?

The trade is done.  The return includes RHP Miguel Mendez the #4 prospect in the Padres organization and SS Joniel Hernandez, San Diego’s #9 prospect.  SF tossed in roughly $4 million to complete the deal.

One more deal…

Erik Miller to Boston for INF Marcelo Mayer (he attended the same HS as Casey Schmitt). I’m guessing Meyer will play 2B in place of Arraez.

IMO, this trade is basically a shuffling of the deck - an inconsistent reliever who never could establish himself for a random infielder who is keeping the seat warm until Schmitt returns next year.
