...It is probably better for Stanford 2013 if ND comes to town as the defending BCS champs.  Also, the defending champs will be less hungry, and therefore might not be able to achieve their goals when they come to the Bay Area late in the year. 

next year should be a big rebuilding year for ND.  they lose 8 starters on O and another 4 on D (assuming no one goes to the NFL early).  they also lose another handful of SRs on their 2 deep.
