One thing that I noticed about US college soccer (I have attended countless games at all levels in different parts of the world) is that it is always high pressure all the time.
The player with the ball always has someone sprinting at them to take it away. That leads to a lot of long kicks to the other side of the field as to not lose possession in your half.
That doesn't happen in many leagues. I attribute it to the substitutions that are allowed at the NCAA level.
