Her offense is just gone - 0,5,5,6 and 1 points her last 5 games. Her 3 point % is only slightly down, but she has no shot volume. She also is a decent defender, but she isn’t elite. The Fever put Mitchell on Bueckets vs. the Wings Friday not Lexie. She still starts but doesn’t get starter minutes.Lexie's WNBA journey has been a fascinating basketball case study. The last few seasons, the Fever had a bunch of injuries. In 2025, with both Clark and Cunningham out, Lexie had to play a lot of minutes, was counted on to score, shot incredibly well for most of the season, and was a key factor on both sides of the ball. The Fever were 1 overtime loss away from making it to the championship. Fast forward to today...both Clark and Cunningham are healthy and playing well. Cunningham is 3rd in the league at 3 point percentage. She is also massively popular in Indiana. As a team, the Fever are currently the highest scoring team in the league. There are times where Lexie is completely wide open, calling for the ball, and they don't pass it to her. But who can blame them? What they are doing is working. Clark, Mitchell, and Boston can't be stopped, so Lexie's offensive role is simply shrinking. She can play 15 minutes and only touch the ball on offense a few times. They want the ball in the hands of their main scorers, simply because they are so good. And I agree Heironymous, she isn't really an elite defender. She's very good, but isn't quite "lock down". She also used to get more steals, O boards, loose balls, etc. but it looks like she's being coached to simply "be solid". Don't foul, don't take risks and get burned, don't turn it over...play solid D, make open layups, take a few open threes - that's all we need from you with everyone else being so good. And it's working. They've won 10 out of their last 13, with only close losses. Hate watching it happen to Lexie. She has proven she is capable of so much more and I can't stand the selfish play of the others, but that's the way it goes in the pros.
